Dr. Syed Abdul Wadood Assistant Professor

Dr. Syed Abdul Wadood is serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Food Science and Technology, University of Home Economics since October 2020. His research background is generally focused on the application of different analytical techniques including ICP-MS, IR-MS, GC-MS, NIR, etc. for addressing important food safety and authenticity issues. He is the first author of many research articles published in well-reputed SCI journals. He is currently collaborating with the Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences on their ongoing projects focusing on Food Authentication.

Dr. Syed Abdul Wadood got a scholarship for doctoral study and completed his P.HD in June 2019 from Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (GSCAAS), Beijing, China, where he worked at key laboratory of agro product processing and utilization, Institute of Food Science and Technology under the supervision of Prof Yimin Wei. During his PhD he worked on the geographical traceability of agro-products and developed new methods for the traceability of processed wheat product using modern analytical techniques. His doctoral work was recognized and appreciated by the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and his achievements were published in the graduate school news corner. He received outstanding graduate student award from GSCAAS for his excellent performance during the period of doctoral study.
