The Library at University of Home Economics aims to enhance and strengthen the learning and research experiences. We support intellectual growth by developing collection in all form and variety of contents in line with the academic and research needs of the University, facilitating the equitable access and teaching lifelong learning skills to all members.

The library houses a rich collection of around 11,000 books related to the major disciplines being offered at the University, the detail of which is as follows:

Service
Information Literacy Services
The library provides information literacy services to the university students to empower them in determining the nature and extent of the information needed, locating, evaluating and ethically using the available information. These services are provided through library orientation, organized Information Literacy Sessions, formal and informal discussion and on-spot assistance.
Current Awareness Service
The library shares the details of recent acquisitions through email and WhatsApp and displays the lists in specified shelves allocated for new arrivals. The library also shares login and password details for online access to e-books and apps.
Recommend a Book
UHE students are encouraged to recommend books of their choice to the library and these books are acquired for students after departmental approval.

Circulation
UHE Library provides the circulation services to its members according to policy. The members are required to fill in the attached membership form once they join UHE.

Electronic Document Delivery Service:
UHE library has access to HEC digital library and other open access resources. If access to a full text article or book pdf is not available at UHE library, we arrange it from other libraries. The request can be emailed at: library@uhe.edu.pk
Research Assistance Service:
The library guides the researchers to search through various available databases to access the required information, to analyze data and in reference management.
Student counselor is available for the students well being in the campus. She is dedicated to cooperate with the students for their social, emotional and academic growth & stability.She has been organizing different activities for the students, which are totally free to join for students well being, including: Regular Growth course sessions, Anti-bullying campaign, counseling camp & workshops on Anger Management, Stress Management, Anxiety Management & much more. Students are welcome to join the free Wellness Society, which continues to play different positive activities like: Mime, Drama, walk, & much more. So students can easily avail services of Student Counselor inside University.
The Fatima Jinnah Auditorium at the University of Home Economics in Lahore, Pakistan, is a prestigious venue named after the iconic Fatima Jinnah. Under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Dr. Faleeha Zahra Kazmi, it’s a hub for intellectual exchange. In the prayer room at the University of Home Economics, there are prayer mats and chairs for students to pray and relax. its been cleaned and reorganized by the worthy vice chancellor to facilitate students. Sometimes, when not used for prayers, it’s like a common room where girls can take a break and rest. They can chat, study, or just unwind in a calm environment. There are also books with helpful advice to read, adding to the soothing atmosphere.

Daycare centre of UHE was established on October 10, 2017 for the children of UHE employees. It provides peace of mind to especially female employees regarding their children, who otherwise struggle to take care their children while on jobs. Day Care Centre provides a safe and nurturing environment to meet the individual needs of each child. This also increases the work efficiency and effectiveness of UHE employees.
Transport Information Centre provides general information related University Bus routes and timing. Processing of various transport services performa for Students and Employees. Provision of information regarding bus fee.

The University of Home Economics (UHE) Girls’ Hostel aims to provide a safe and comfortable environment for students. UHE offers hostel facilities to its full-time, regular students from outside Lahore. The Girls’ Hostel features a variety of single, double, and triple shared rooms, all equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi. Located within the university premises, the hostel is surrounded by lush green lawns, trees, and gardens. The design of the hostel integrates the needs of modern, sustainable urban living, while the vast and open corridors ensure a pleasant and well-ventilated living space.
Life in the UHE Girls’ Hostel is a testimony to the university’s diversity and inclusivity. Residents come from all over Pakistan, bringing with them a variety of cultural, economic, social, and religious backgrounds. They share a common bond through their association with the prestigious institution and each other. The hostel provides an atmosphere where students can learn, develop lifelong associations, and enjoy a comfortable setting. Security is a top priority, with the university guarded 24/7 by professional security personnel and entrance and exit points under constant CCTV surveillance. One of the Residence house has been turned into a gallery for students display. Students of Interior Design degree program exclusively held their first display on exploration of various materials and textures under sustainability. The gallery is a huge step towards empowering departments in terms of set ups for exhibitions.
