BS SOCIOLOGY

BS (Sociology) 4 Years Degree Program is a broad interdisciplinary degree, which gives students an insight into a wide range of basic and social sciences subjects. Why study Gender Studies?

 

This program enables its students to learn about the interdisciplinary field of Gender Studies and is focused on the ways in which sex and gender manifest themselves in social, cultural, economic, and political contexts. Since Gender Studies is an interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary academic field, it is fundamentally devoted to studying and analyzing various aspects of identity and representation across societies and cultures.

MPHIL SOCIOLOGY

Why pursue an MPhil in Sociology?

Admission Requirements/Eligibility Criteria

  • At least 16 years of education (Masters or 4 years of BS Degree) or equivalent qualifications in Sociology, Anthropology, Gender Studies, Population Studies, Political Science, International Relations, Education and Media Studies, Criminology or any other relevant discipline.
  • At least 2nddivision, from a recognized university is required to be eligible for admission to this program.
  • Final admission will be granted based on scoring 50% marks in GAT-General (Sociology) or a Departmental Test UGAT and an interview conducted by the program admission committee as per HEC policy (50% UGAT marks and 20% interview marks)

Yes, UHE is a public sector university, and all degrees are recognized by Higher Education Commission, Islamabad.

Candidates having an age not more than 24 and obtained at least 50% marks in intermediate are eligible to apply. Candidates are required to visit the eligibility criteria of each program    placed at University of Home Economics website before applying to any degree program.

Q6.      How many programs I can apply to?

A candidate can apply to as many degree programs as she may deem fit.

Q7.      What is the admission processing fee for each application?

Q8.      What was the last merit of degree programs?

Each year’s merit depends on candidates applied however last year merit of degree programs. For BS Sociology, merit closed at 75%.

Q9.      What is the last date and mode of submission for admission forms?

The last date of submission of admission forms will be 31st October, and they can be submitted via hand.

Q10.    What criteria is set for applicants who missed the documents (e.g., Fee Challan, Admission Forms, Matric / inter result etc.?

The applicants must submit their missing documents by 31st October positively otherwise application forms with missing documents will not be entertained.

Q11.    Are there any Scholarship programs available?

Ehsaas program by HEC, UHE need based scholarship, UHE merit-based scholarship are available.

Q12.    Who can apply for scholarships?

All students admitted are eligible for scholarships as per criteria.

Q13.    Are there any provisions for students applying in UHE from outside of Lahore to have hostel facility in University of Home Economics?

Yes, the hostel facility is available on first come first serve basis.

Q14.    Do you offer weekend classes?

No.

Q15.    Is there a fee refund policy?

Yes, the fee can be refunded within one week of the commencement of classes.

Q16.    What if I want to migrate to another program?

As per HEC Policy, you can migrate from one program to another only once.
