Leadership Transition: Prof. Dr. Faleeha Kazmi joins UHE as Vice-Chancellor
In a notable development, Professor Dr. Syeda Faleeha Zahra Kazmi, Dean Faculty of Islamic and Oriental Learning at Lahore College for Women University, has taken charge as the acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Home Economics (UHE) Lahore. Her appointment was approved by the caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, and Governor Punjab, Engineer Muhammad Balighur Rehman.
Subsequently, the Higher Education Department issued an official notification regarding her appointment.
Dr. Syeda Faleeha Zahra Kazmi brings with her an impressive academic and administrative background, boasting 25 years of teaching and administrative experience. Her scholarly contributions include the publication of more than 65 research papers in national and international journals and the authorship of 9 books.
Notably, she serves as a subject expert for the Punjab Public Service Commission and an external examiner for six government universities.
Upon assuming her role as acting Vice Chancellor, Dr. Faleeha Kazmi held an introductory meeting with University Registrar, Shujaat Muneef Qureshi, along with other university officers and heads of various departments.
During this interaction, Dr. Kazmi expressed her pride and honor in being appointed to lead the prestigious educational institution of Lahore.
She committed to putting in unwavering efforts day and night to foster the development and progress of the university.
The government has entrusted Dr. Syeda Faleeha Zahra Kazmi with the responsibility of Acting Vice Chancellor for a period of six months. Her wealth of experience and dedication to academic excellence make her a valuable addition to the University of Home Economics’ leadership team.
Since the completion of the tenure of founding Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen on 31st May 2023, the position of the Vice-Chancellor at UHE has remained vacant.
