UHE joins hands with Walled City Lahore Authority for Graphic & Crafts Designing Projects

Lahore (Friday, February 17, 2023): The University of Home Economics (UHE) Lahore and Walled City of Lahore Authority have signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the facilitation of awareness and information campaigns of Walled City of Lahore Authority.
The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen and Kamran Lashari, Director General of the Walled City of Lahore Authority, signed the MoU. Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen said UHE UHE shall facilitate WCLA for Graphic designing & Crafts designing projects and the student of UHE will execute future projects.
She said, under the MoU, University shall work together with WCLA for campaigns, festival designs, joint seminars, conferences, and exhibitions on the heritage and culture of Pakistan. “There is a dire need to design souvenirs that reflect the indigenous heritage and culture”, she added.
Prof. Ameen said, our indigenous culture and traditions are a reflection of our rich history, and our well-skilled students may assist in the production of souvenirs.
Kamran Lashari said, Walled City is working on various projects, and faculty and students of UHE will also be engaged in the execution of projects. He said, the walled city of Lahore, which no doubt is among the oldest settlements, is a cosmos of monuments, havelis, cuisines, bazaars, culture, and traditions, and all these features make it a living heritage museum.
At the signing ceremony senior faculty members, deputy director External Linkages Jawaria Irfan, and deputy director WCLA Aisha Khan were also present.
