UHE celebrated International WOMEN’S DAY 2021
International Women’s Day was celebrated at University of Home Economics (UHE) .
The honorable guests were the alumni of College of Home Economics, Ms. Saira Qazi Dar & Ms Zeeshan Zia Raja. Both women have carved a niche in the broader world and have successful careers. Both related their success stories as being Wonderful Home Economists and Strong Working Women.
Professor Dr. Kanwal Ameen, VC, UHE while addressing the event said that society is comprised of more than 50 percent women who had always played a vital role in the progress of society as well as the nation. The University of Home Economics is trying to empower women with knowledge and latest research by providing them education, skills, and training in all trades. She further said women are free to express their opinions but it should be done in a cultured and civilized way, Male and female both have equal rights and they should grow together professionally in all walks of life with the support of each other. Madam VC gave the opportunity to students also & urged them to share their thoughts.
Students highlighted the concept of feminism, culture, norms, and values. Prof .Dr. Kanwal Ameen appreciated the honorable guests for their participation and by sharing wonderful experiences with the students of their great successes in practical life. The event was attended by all Chairperson/HODs of the Departments, Faculty members, and students of the University.
A powerful message regarding women’s rights was conveyed through a skit presented by the students.
