UHE approves students’ migration & transfer policy

Lahore (Thursday 09th March 2023): The University of Home Economics (UHE) Lahore approved the students’ migration & transfer policy, students securing at least a grade with 80% content similarity in the respective course(s) and candidates having minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00 may transfer to UHE.
The policy was approved in the 8th meeting of the Academic Council under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen, Vice-Chancellor UHE Lahore.
The Academic Council decided, UHE may grant admission on a migration basis after fulfillment of the admission eligibility criteria and the candidate should be a student of HEC recognized University/HEI.
The student will be bound to provide a No Objection Certificate, and a No Disciplinary Action certificate from the previous institution.
Upon getting admission on a migration basis, the student will not be entitled to any scholarship/medal/merit position and hostel accommodation. “Admission by migration is not permissible in the first and final years of the academic program, admission by migration shall not be allowed after the expiry of three weeks of commencement of classes, the policy states”.
The Academic Council also approved new academic degree programs i.e., Mphil Sociology, MS Organizational Psychology, MS Clinical Psychology, BS Computer Science, and certificate course in Data Journalism.
The Academic Council approved the members of the Board of Studies of various programs, semester system guidelines, entrance from ADP to BS, and existing from BS to ADP.
While chairing the meeting, Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen said the new academic programs and changes in the nomenclature of academic degrees shall be helpful to attract more students for getting admission to the university.
The meeting was attended by members of the Academic Council, Registrar Shujaat Muneef Qureshi, Director Academics Tahir Ilyas, and Director QEC Ahmed Faraz.
