Associate Professor Department of Fine Art, Dr. Samina Zaheer received the Anamolka Award for painting work from the Punjab University College of Art and Design. Vice-Chancellor Punjab University Prof. Dr. Khalid Mehmood conferred this award to her.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syeda Faleeha Zahra Kazmi congratulated her for receiving this award.

This recognition came after a long journey of advocating for abstract art amidst a sea of traditional voices, embodying the struggle for individual expression in the post-colonial era.

My mission has always been to elevate our traditions and showcase the imagery of South Asia, deeply rooted in my homeland, Dr. Samina Zaheer said on this achievement.

She said colors and forms in my artwork reflect the inspiration drawn from Truck Art’s native imagery and the enduring impact of the British Raj’s century-long occupation.
