Pak-China Cultural Exhibition Opens at UHE
Lahore (Tuesday, June 4, 2024): An exhibition celebrating the cultural and environmental ties between Pakistan and China opened today at the University of Home Economics (UHE) Lahore. His Excellency Mr. Zhao Shiren, Chinese Counsel General in Lahore, and Prof. Dr. Faleeha Zahra Kazmi, Vice-Chancellor of UHE, jointly inaugurated the exhibition.
The exhibition features artwork by university students and faculty members Mr. Ahmed Faraz, and Muhammad Ashfaq that explores both the rich cultures and environmental challenges faced by both nations. The faculty members Dr. Munnazza Rashid, Ms. Nosheen Zaidi, and Ms. Zainab Alim also displayed their artwork.
Counsel General Zhao praised the exhibition, highlighting its contribution to fostering friendship and understanding between Pakistan and China.
He expressed the Chinese consulate’s enthusiasm for continued collaboration on such initiatives, believing these joint efforts will further strengthen the long-standing relationship between the two countries.
Prof. Kazmi emphasized UHE’s commitment to empowering students, promoting cultural appreciation, and encouraging healthy living.
She linked the exhibition to the upcoming No Plastic Day, urging everyone to reduce plastic use, particularly plastic bags, which are a major environmental and health concern in Pakistan.
She concluded by stressing the importance of guiding young people towards healthier habits for a better future.
