Oxford Professor Dr. John McGrady Visits UHE, Inaugurates Student Art Exhibition

A student art exhibition was held at the Home Economics University Lahore under the theme “Fine Arts and Society.” The exhibition was inaugurated by renowned Oxford University professor, Dr. John McGrady.
The event showcased creative works by students from various university departments including Art & Design, Computer Science, Fine Arts, and Textile. Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Zaib-un-nisa Hussain, faculty members, and a large number of students were present at the occasion.
While inaugurating the exhibition, Professor McGrady praised the students’ artwork, calling their talent commendable and highlighting the creativity and hard work reflected in their projects.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Zaib-un-nisa Hussain stated that the university is actively providing opportunities for students to express their creative abilities, helping them acquire modern skills and engage deeply with social themes. She noted that such programs boost students’ confidence.
The students shared that, thanks to the guidance and mentorship of their teachers, they were able to work on various social and cultural topics. This not only enhanced their learning capacity but also gave them a fresh perspective on art.
The exhibition prominently featured elements of Lahore’s culture, historical heritage, and architecture. On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor also expressed interest in collaborating with Oxford University on joint academic and research initiatives. She emphasized that the creative abilities of youth will play a vital role in shaping a positive future for society.
