Inauguration of Faiz Ahmed Faiz Lawn at UHE

Lahore (Monday, July 8, 2024): In a ceremony marked by reverence and celebration, the lawn at Home Economics University has been officially named in honor of the renowned poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz. The inauguration was led by Faiz’s daughter, former Principal of the National College of Arts, Professor Salima Hashmi, along with Munizeh Hashmi.
The Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Faleeha Zahra Kazmi, Adeel Hashmi, Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Saima Kamran, faculty and officers attended the ceremony.
The gathering reflected the deep respect and admiration held for Faiz Ahmed Faiz, a towering literary figure whose work continues to inspire generations.
Prof. Kazmi expressed that naming the lawn after Faiz Ahmed Faiz is a heartfelt tribute to his enduring legacy.
She highlighted the significance of Faiz’s contributions to literature and culture, noting that the newly named lawn will serve as a symbol of his enduring influence.
The space is intended to be a place where students and faculty can find inspiration and engage in intellectual pursuits, much like Faiz himself did throughout his life.
