Department of Textile & Fashion Design offers multidisciplinary education in design and research relating to textiles and apparel design, through participation in formal studio instruction and ongoing research and scholarly endeavors. Students benefit from a broad-based program and faculty specializing in areas of Textiles and Fashion Industry. As of now, two programs are being offered in this discipline.

Bs Textile Design
Introduction
In the textile design program, offered by UHE, students learn how to turn innovative ideas into actual printed, woven and knitted products. Through our proven curriculum, students are trained to blend aesthetic and creative skills with the latest technologies. StudenZr ts here are offered technical courses in weaving, knitting and printing, dyeing and finishing, and materials technology along with a strong technical and conceptual foundation in color theory, drawing, painting, screen printing, weaving, and computer-aided design as well as textile history. Patterns and fabric collections are created for use in apparel and home furnishings. Our esteemed faculty focuses on the exhibition of individual creativity for attainment of a more modern outcome.
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum 50% marks in Intermediate / A-Level or equivalent and no 3rd division in Matriculation

Clean & Green Society
With growing global warming, ozone depletion, smog induced fatal diseases and an increased plastic use, creating a clean and green environment has become a basic necessity for human survival. Clean & Green Society, here at University of Home Economics Lahore, aims to the care and protection of university environment and to make UHE an ecofriendly place. Its main objective is to create a sense of awareness among students of UHE about the current alarming environmental situation and take necessary steps required for the sustainability of our earth. Students take active participation in planting trees, creating kitchen gardens, arranging workshops on cleanliness and garbage disposal, managing the wastage of resources and taking care of the plantation at university grounds.

Hajra hayat is one of the renowed fashion designers of Pakistan Fashion industry who is equally well known in the international fashion market. She started her own fashion brand in 1998 which is now established as haute couture design house. In 2006 Hajra Hayat launched her pret line, which is now available worldwide and in Pakistan at the most authentic retail stores. Way to go Hajra!
- Taughisa Mumtaz
Taughisa Mumtaz is a fashion designer working in the textile industry. She started her industrial journey 10 years ago and in this short period of time, she has two successfully running clothing brands to her name as of now. We are proud of you Taughisa!
- Fatima Asher
Fatima Asher launched her clothing brand to her name and is successfully running made to order pret line, formal and haute couture. Keep it up Fatima!
