105 Students of 12 Universities Particpate in Computing Festival at UHE

Lahore (Friday 10 January 2025): The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology (CS&IT) at the University of Home Economics (UHE), Lahore, successfully organized the Computing Festival 2025, which brought together participants from 12 prestigious universities. The event provided a dynamic platform for students to showcase their skills in various fields of computing and innovation.
A total of 105 students from leading universities, including LUMS, FAST-Lahore, UET-Lahore, Punjab University (PU), Virtual University (VU), Punjab Tianjin University of Technology (PTUT), Lahore Garrison University (LGU), University of Management and Technology (UMT), University of Central Punjab (UCP), Superior University, Kinnaird College (KC), and NIIT, competed in the festival.
The competition featured four distinct categories, focusing on coding, artificial intelligence (AI) prompts, and logo design. Dr. Aniqa, Incharge of CS&IT at UHE, and Ms. Sameen Fatima, Advisor to the UHE Computing Society, served as moderators for the event, ensuring its smooth execution.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Faleeha Zahra Kazmi, Vice-Chancellor of UHE, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering innovation and creativity among students. She highlighted that the event not only provided a platform for participants to demonstrate their talent but also served as a collaborative effort to promote technological advancement.
“We are proud to have hosted 12 universities in this festival, making it a hub of innovation and talent exchange,” said Dr. Kazmi.
To honor the efforts and participation of the students, UHE distributed certificates of appreciation to all 105 participants. The event concluded with a vibrant closing ceremony attended by Dr. Tayyaba Sohail, Director of Academics, and Dr. Iram Rubab, Director of Student Affairs.
The Computing Festival 2025 was hailed as a significant milestone in promoting inter-university collaboration, skill development, and technological innovation.
